Overview of Our Approach

We love meeting our potential future workforce, sharing the passion we have for our roles, professions and organisations and try to connect in a variety of ways to ensure we attract a diverse representative community of future workers to support our Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland patient needs.

Work experience and career event opportunities are various and depend on a combination of things including our current service pressures, staff availability and our workforce needs. Whilst we want to attend everything we are invited to sometimes it sadly just isn’t possible however hopefully this site has a range of tools that will support initial conversations on Health and Social Care roles; with current career stories from local people, career identification tools, videos from different professions and a range of information to help too.

We aim to plan in academic years to support the school and college cycle however try to avoid our peak time of winter pressures. We have a work experience portal that hosts all the known placements from all Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland employers which makes it a ‘one stop shop’ to look for something appropriate for your students. As a profession we organise joint Step into Health and Social Care Career events for your school to connect to. These may be virtual or in person events to ensure we connect in ways that support student and school needs at that time.
