Observations of respiratory physiotherapists working with children with life-limiting and life-threatening disease with respiratory complications. The visits are carried out in the patients home, respite setting or clinics usually held at the LRI.
Inductions will be supported locally by the placement manager at the site the placement is at

Plain short sleeved t-shirt and smart trousers, trainers, bare below the elbow for clinic visits, no jewellery below the elbow and stud earrings.
Confidentiality, you will be asked to wear gloves, a gown and a surgical mask for certain visits as many of the children we see are unwell with respiratory illnesses. You may not be able to attend some visits depending on the situation and we may need to rearrange the work experience day last minute if no suitable visits are available on the day.
