Allied Health Care Professionals (AHPs) are the third largest clinical workforce in health and care.
There are 14 different professions which make up AHPs:-
- Art Therapists
- Dietitians
- Drama Therapists
- Music Therapists
- Occupational Therapists
- Operating Department Practitioner
- Orthoptists
- Osteopaths
- Paramedics
- Physiotherapists
- Podiatrists
- Prosthetists and Orthoptists
- Therapeutic & Diagnostic Radiographers
- Speech and language therapists
This work experience placement is ideal for someone exploring potential careers within the NHS as it allows you to discover professions you may not have even considered.
During your work experience week you will get to spend time observing a mixture of some of these professions clinically.
This placement will require interaction with a wide range of health care staff in a multi-disciplinary team and patients.
You may be placed at any of the main 3 City sites, Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester General Hospital or Glenfield Hospital during the duration of your work experience.
