During the visit students have the opportunity to have either a 'Cook Along' or a 'Cooking Demonstration' The scheme is run by a professional Chef who visits schools to either run a short demonstration or cook a long. This is complimented by both specific careers advise for catering careers and generic NHS career advise. In addition to this the session can be themed to support the curriculum in terms of maths/numbers in cooking, importance of understanding the written word in cooking, safe use of knives, sustainable food sources. Hopefully it will also help inspire young people to explore cooking and nutrition for themselves. An e-recipe booklet is shared post the session.
